Core Principles:

  • Clear mission and shared value
  • Clear goals that are consistent with organizational strategy, and can be measured by the group to show progress
  • Interdependence and shared accountability
  • A meaningful challenge with a worthwhile and visible outcome
  • Just large enough to achieve goals, but no larger as every additional member increases communication and coordination effort
  • Individual roles are clear
  • At least some of the reward & recognition system should reward the group as a group
